THE MANDATE OF HEAVEN
The 'Mandate of Heaven' appears in China 221 BCE as a political and social philosophy, the right to rule given by heaven. In India Manu in 2400 BCE subjugates half the species to the other by law, Sloka V. The Romans in 200 BCE gives the husband authoritative control over his wife by law, the Manus. In Europe the right to rule is the Divine Right of Kings. Slavery is maintained until 1834 ACE.

The Mandate of Heaven revisits beliefs, rites and institutions established during the 4000 years of patriarchy, slavery and feudalism and places them smack in the middle of a modern context.

Assumed power and privilege, ad hoc departments, old laws, torture, secrets, ancient scrolls, violence, hard traditional attitudes play roles in the story of an abduction that derails side by side with modern technology, an educated public, intelligent police force, unusual sleuth hounds, electronic planning and high-speed resolution

AN INCONVENIENT LIE
An Inconvenient Lie, Secrets in Language by Louise Gouëffic, 2010, shows the ‘theory of man’ false and language imposing it as Truth a source of injustice and violence harming both genders. Bias embedded in language led to the patriarchal subjugation of both genders as well as to worldwide conflict, wars, prostitution, crime, and other evils. The price of one lie is the loss of many truths™

The author proposes a theory of inclusiveness with true-to-reality symbols and names benefiting both genders. She puts fairness, justice and equity back in language to show that both genders have sufficient minds to be the foundation of rationality that the millions of years of evolution created before patriarchy. Symbol-making in language closely resembles the process in evolution making the transfer of information possible.

"Louise Gouëffic's An Inconvenient Lie is a must read for all of us concerned about our planet and what it means to be a member of our species today. "Enough is enough" she says. Her detailed analysis of our symbols shows how, and with what consequences, our language has advanced the interests of only one-half of the species: patriarchy. The other, "fem" is made absent, invisible, less than equal, an appendage, a plaything. Gouëffic exposes these mind games in order to reveal what is at work and to make present these absences. Only when we all learn to think for ourselves, she argues, will we have the basis for a more equal and genuine society."

BREAKING THE PATRIARCHAL CODE
Louise Gouëffic 1996, Knowledge, Ideas and Trends, Manchester CT, categorizes 10000 items of speech that assume male superiority and dominance in words naming him superior and dominant.

She seeks out the messages in them and spells them out in a language that people of all ages can see the bias and understand what is done to mind in language manipulated by patriarchy. She proposes many ways to reduce the harm caused by patriarchal language and changes in language benefiting both genders. Updated redesigned edition 2011 printed in Canada. http://louisegoueffic.blogspot.com

"This is an imaginative and creative work. The analysis is profound and thoughtful. The implications are far more radical than other publications on the gender bias in language. No one who has given these matters serious thought can fail to be persuaded that the task of creating an unbiased language form has just begun."

IN THE NAME OF PROFIT FYG
Louise Gouëffic 2011, Sapien Books, is a symbolic representation of how easily language can be manipulated to advantage a certain group or political end.

She illustrates how language is developed one item at a time with the passage of time to favour those aiming for power. It is a modern allegory imitating the situation in the symbol-making species today. (21 pages)

"In the PROFIT FYG you have created a timeless piece of allegory, on a par with Aesop's Fables."
Fred Brailey, Orangeville ON
