WELCOME TO THE PRESS ROOM

A Letter From Sapien Books

The author of An Inconvenient Lie, Louise Gouëffic, always considered herself to be in a species other than “human.” From the age of six she rebelled against names and items of speech that didn’t seem to square with reality. This came to her via two avenues, language itself and her father’s insights.

Her father, brought up by a single mother, became painfully aware at an early age of the huge discrepancies that existed between the restricted lives of mothers and the privileged lives of fathers. He became a man of great equanimity and balance in his character with a profound positive and rational viewpoint of the value of both roles in society for society. His influence on his daughter made a deep and lasting impression on her. It created in her the driving passion that underwrote her commitment to the 30 years she was to give to her research project into language.

We at Sapien Books welcome you to our Press Room with the hope that you will read and see in An Inconvenient Lie the same equanimity her father possessed and her passion in the thorough analysis of language and that you will find the suggestions of language change in it rational, positive and practical.

Sincerely,
The Staff at Sapien Books
